CRC is equipped to perform one and two-generational reproduction studies, dietary toxicity (LC50) studies, acute oral toxicity studies (LD50), and Tier 2 endocrine disruptor testing. Laboratory studies are performed with mallard ducks, northern bobwhite quail, Japanese quail, canaries, zebra-finches, house finches, house sparrows, red-winged blackbirds or brown-headed cowbirds. CRC routinely accommodates exploratory trials that various clients find helpful in gathering product or strain development information, but also prides itself on conforming to all OPPTS, OECD, and JMAFF regulations that govern those tests that our clients find themselves required to fulfill prior to product registration.

CRC offers chicken and catfish feeding studies to assess the nutritional equivalency and safety of feed developed from genetically modified plant material as compared to conventional commercial feed. In conjunction with these studies, CRC manages the preparation of the diets, sampling and nutritional analyses.

CRC also offers pesticide exposure characterization and risk assessment as well as a variety of field studies. Field studies may be conducted on remote agricultural field sites or on study plots, in microcosm ponds or in large outdoor aviaries established on the 50-acre pastoral property of CRC. The breadth of experience and capabilities of CRC’s staff include a broad spectrum of field study designs and options.
